BOOK 5 – THE ERIC LEWIS SPORTS SERIES
Eric Lewis and his football/basketball teammates get little rest between their championship season on the gridiron and the beginning of basketball season. But they would have it no other way. One challenge accomplished and another one on the horizon.
The hoops team is full of returning starters which bodes well for the Comets. After a heart breaking defeat in the State Final a year ago the veteran Crater team is ready to take the final step and win their third State title in a row, following the baseball and football championship seasons.
With last year’s leading scorer now playing in college it will be Eric’s task to pick up the scoring slack. He is surrounded by three other returning starters; the twin forwards, Thomas and Toby Hart-Zoller and point guard Luke Alwood. The new starter is 6′ 7″ junior center Robby Cowan. Three other letter winners will provide needed depth, and they will be bolstered by two promising sophomore athletes. Many people feel this squad might well be better than last season’s runner-up group.
Rumor has it Coach Edwards might be in his last season after a long and very successful career. If true, the entire team and fan base would like nothing better than to send him into retirement with a state championship.
