By Way of the Pasture Gate is all about God’s mercy. The novella chronicles the spiritual odyssey of Larry Silva from ages fifteen to twenty-one. Larry has a crisis of faith and even loses his faith through some school curricula he is exposed to. He is soon beset by temptations to vice, which he breathlessly escapes. In college, Larry tries a different religion, to no avail. So, in desperation, he puts out a fleece before God, and the hoped-for answer to it inspires Larry’s renewed conversion to Christ. But conflicts with a priest drive Larry away again, leading to a dramatic encounter on the street.
